My plant is huge, healthy and taking over, but absolutely not one zucchini. I had flowers, but nothing came after it. Any suggestions? I thought we'd be swimming in zucchinin by now.

Did something eat your flowers? If so, I'm afraid you won't get any zucchini?

(My tomatoes appear before the flower has completely fallen off the plant.)

Oh my..I didn't think about that something would eat the flowers. Never had a problem with cucumbers or zuke in the past. Let's see, we have birds, squirrels, cats, opposums and a possible raccoon. Not sure what would eat them although I think some one has discovered the blueberries. Those I don't mind since I just grew them for the hell of it.

I have had the same problem with my zuchinnis for the last 2 years - big beautiful leaves AND flowers - but no zuchinni. Maybe not being pollinated. I might give up.

Lord knows we have abundant bees! I guess they're not doing their job. I was looking forward to see how big we can grow them this year:-) The plant looks so nice growing up the ladder/trellis we have for it. At least I'll have tomatoes.

This has ben a VERY wet spring and summer and some plants don't do well in it. My parsley has done nothing while my tomatoes and peppers are thriving. That may be the issue.

I have more basil, thyme, oregano and tarragon than I know what to do with; my catnip is very happy. I lost all my parsley, cilantro and dill. My mint never really took off; it usually consumes everything. My chamomille sits there. My watermelon is a very pretty vine. but that's it. My cukes were quite prolific and have stopped doing anything. My summer squash are a bit small; I picked a lot early so that I would get more out of them, but they look like they are done. The leaves are yellowing and the new flowers are wilting.

I have hot peppers out the whazoo (ouch) and my tomatos are hanging in there.

How could my summer squash be done? A cow-orker brought in bags full of X-rated zucchinis, these puppies were so big.

I've had years where I had to pollinate zucchini by hand. Not sure if the bees were on strike, or what.

Now I know why the plant has sent out so many new vines: it's not producing any fruit. I was wrangling it back to its trellis/ladder yesterday and discovered my poor grape tomato plant half pinned down "Gulliver's Travels-like" with tendrils wrapped all around the top of the plant. I freed it.
Its getting some new flowers, so maybe I'll see if I can help it along-stupid bees. I think they were too busy at the front of the house with all of the plants.

Much zucchini and other fresh NJ-grown produce to be had at today's Farmer's Market in South Orange by the Duck Pond! The white corn I bought last week was just scrumptious!

My tomato plants have are starting to show flowers and tomatoes but even the ones that have been on the vine for about three weeks are still very green. Shouldn't they be starting to ripen yet?
