My partner and I have just bought a house in Maplewood and would like to have our floors refinished before moving in. Does anyone have a good recommendation for someone to do the job?

Thanks,
Tom

Claudio Russo (Russo Flooring) just did our whole house. Nice job, very responsive, very reasonable price. russofloor@hotmail.com

Thank you Sherri and Angela.
I will give Russo a call, I have seen some positive posts about him. Sherri, you asked me to PL you, I hate to sound ignorant, but what is PL?

Anyway, thanks for the quick responses. People from Maplewood are the best! By the way, what do we call ourselves; Maplewooders, Maplewoodies, Maplewoodians..?

Tom :-)

PL means "Private Line", or "PM - Private Message". You can find this by clicking on the person's name, on the left side of the screen.

Having said that, I've seen some of Claudio's work... if you're picky, you may want to review some other companies - most notably European Flooring. They're not cheap, but the floors are (in effect) the single biggest piece of 'furniture' in the house... you want the floors to look really, really good!

Good luck with the project and welcome to Maplewood.

My floors look terrific. And the job did not break my budget.

I second Claudio. I don't know what is meant by "picky" but before finding Claudio on this site years ago, we had someone that we also got from this site that turned our floors into a big mess. It was our first home, first floor job, so we sucked it up and decorated with area rugs, but the job really stunk. Years later, Claudio came by, fixed those awful floors to a fabulous finish and I've recommended him to others who have been extremely happy. He's neat, courteous, and his work is awesome.

Thomas,

The people of Maplewood have been refered to as "Maplewoodians" without too much debate.

The people of South Orange Village, however, are alternatively called "South Oranginas" and "The Village People."
For reasons that should be obvious, neither has been widely accepted.

Welcome to Maplewood and South Orange, and of course, welcome to MOL.

J.B.
