Ok, I have some leaking in my roof, around the flashing surrounding my 2 toilet stacks. I need a recomendation for someone who will come over and patch it with tar.

I need to be spared any lecture about 'bandaids' vs an entirely new roof which I am aware we need. Just can't afford it. I need someone who will take a ladder, climb up 35', and patch it with Roof tar, hopefully on the spot. I don't think it will take that long, and would rather not go through the process of many estimates.

Any suggestions?

You need a handyman, not a roofer.

Ed Dorflinger did just this sort of thing for me a few months back. Trouble is, I'm not sure if he's still in NJ...I think he'd spoken re moving "sometime soon" (if memory serves me correctly, and it hardly does ). In any event, he used to post often (as uponaroof)...hopefully, he or someone who knows him will respond to your post. If you want to contact him directly, his email address is ed@edlyne.com.

Good luck!

"Trouble is, I'm not sure if he's still in NJ...I think he'd spoken re moving "sometime soon""

I'm still here, Michele. Anchored by a grandson and his doting grandmother, else I'd be having breakfast at the Wellsboro Diner, in where else, but downtown Wellsboro, PA. Someday... maybe!

Any way, I closed down my business in April and now I've got a "real" part time job doing maintenance for a lake association. Most of my duties are early morning beach maintenance, before the beaches open. Or, as I like to refer to it: "Your BM in the AM"!
Ken, sorry I can't help ya, but call Charlie, at Admiral Construction, in West Orange, and tell him I recommended you call him. He'll take care of you, but note that if the roof is too burned out, caulking the soil stacks alone may not resolve your leakage, even temporarily.
