I need somebody to assess our system. The heating and air conditioning units seem to be working fine, but the house is not heated or cooled evenly. I know that we have low air pressure in certain areas. This may or may not be the result of crushed ductwork. It could also be the result of certain ducts being turned off internally. It may be that we need an additional unit, or supplemental units for the rooms that are not sufficiently cooled or heated. I called Air Group and couldn't get a straight answer from them on who (service or sales) should come out to the house. Once we decided that it was service, they told me it would be $400 for the service manager to evaluate the system. This is outrageous. Any ideas on others to call?

Why is $400 outrageous? Did the contractor you called install this system? If not, who did? Before you do anything I would advise you to have an independant heat loss & cooling calculation done. Without that, you (or anyone else) would be guessing, and the last time I checked, they don't work for free. Think about this too. The profession you are seeking answers to is under alot of pressure given the fact it's one of the hottest days in recorded history.

What do you do for a living Mr. Goldberg?

Try Suburban Energy (973) 887-0500

I purchased service contracts from them for most of our HVAC needs (as well as our gas fireplace, whole house humidifier, and Rinnai Tankless water heater, which they installed) - the portion for A/C was $140.
