I have a call into my usual HVAC guy but he's pretty busy and hasn't gotten back to me yet. I'm very clueless about what to do and thought maybe somebody can suggest something simple I might be missing. My central a/c isn't working - the unit outside isn't on at all. I put the thermostat on "auto" and some air is blowing through the vents. The house isn't hot yet but I have two small children who have colds and am worried about their comfort. I checked the circuit breakers and they're all on. I looked at the unit outside but since I don't know anything about it, it wasn't much of a help. Is there anything basic I should be looking for? TIA

Check the fuses or breaker at the compressor, service disconnect box. If fuses they are cartridge style and you will need a meter. |
