DUMB QUESTION We need to replace our entry door along with the side lights (what is there is not original to the house and horrible - the original side lights were replaced by some plexiglass of sorts and the door is not original either & is very sad looking) I don't know if I understand the concept of a "door system". I want to keep the integrity of the American chestnut moldings on the interior of the house. Can anyone tell me how this is done? And what product/installer would you recommend? Any experience with Pella or Windowland? |

There have been some raging debates about Windowland recently; check the archives. I'm not quite sure what you mean by a door system, but I suspect that you're talking about a pre-hung door... possibly with side glass on either side of the door (this requires a larger opening, of course!). I am going to send you a private message with the name and email address of a contractor that I use for things like this - he's very good and VERY willing to explain your options to you. If you don't get an email, let me know. |

Thanks Case. I was reading 2004 archives last night and didn't come across anything but then again I was reading up on electrical upgrades. I did get an email and I will call him. |
