Hi,

I just moved in a few weeks ago and need to call some oil heating companies and heard of Petro, Wooley and Oil City Petroleum.

I just wanted to get an idea of any other companies people are happy with service contracts/repairs/oil deliveries and prices that service South Orange.

Thanks!

Welcome to the neighborhood!

We're in Maplewood and use Petro and have been happy with them. Service is always prompt and courteous. We get out oil deliveries through them and they even did our furnace replacement (we had an extremely old inefficient unit). Every time we have a plumber or plumbing town inspector at our house for any reason, they always comment on what a nice install they did... Comforting to hear.

Not sure if they're the best price for oil, but they're competitive.

From everything I've read and heard, prices are only going to rise. It's only our first year getting oil but we chose the fixed rate because of this BUT a lower amount than what the rep suggested we buy, figuring if we ended up running out we'd just "eat" the higher cost if we needed the oil that badly.

We've used Woolley for over 10 years and have always been pleased with their service. Auto delivery works fine for us. All of their employees have very positive and professional attitudes. We've had them install a replacement furnace and a/c.

We signed up with Woolley, when you call ask for Norm Woolley Jr. He was great in explaining how the company works and that his repair people work for the company and are not sub contractors. His dad started the company. Liked the idea of using a company in town.
