This week the same electrician (one I've never used, but recommended on MOL) stood me up for TWO different appointments. I arranged my schedule around these appointments and did not even get a courtesy call saying he was either not showing or going to be late. I'm obviously not calling him again, but what is it with contractors that they think this is appropriate behavior???? I'm so annoyed. And now have to call a new guy, await his call back, schedule a new appointment and HOPE HE SHOWS! Argh. |

Don't worry the next recession is right around the corner. Once it hits, people will pull back big time on home renovation/improvements. Those apathetic contractors that have been surviving soley on gluttonous home renovations over the past few years will see their business shrink. There's nothing like a good recession to weed out the weak ones. Try Adam at Schipani. He got back to us immediately and came out for an estimate exactly on time. 908-447-0805 |

Uhh, call Stacey Electric on Valley Road in Orange. They are the most reliable contractors I have dealt with. Like anything in life: you get what you pay for. |

I had an appointment with Adam and he completely zoned on it. I called him 15 minutes after the appointed meeting time and he was like, "Uhh, oh right, Ill be right over." No thanks. |

I can guess who the electrician that stood you up was. I had two "highly recommended" electricians from this board stand me up for appointments. Needless to say, I didn't call them again to reschedule. Fool me once... I second what Rich said. Let's hope some of these contractors get the message when money gets tight and the calls stop coming. |

I sure hope it wasn't the electician I recommended in the past! I'd appreciate a PL with the name(s) of the stand-uppers, if you don't mind - I really would want to know if I should stop recommending my guy! Thanks! |

Too bad Gateway Plumbing doesn't do electrical work. Whenever they are going to be the tiniest bit late, they call ahead. They also call and ask if early is OK! This kind of stuff should serve as a model for other contractors.
