Has anyone had any experience with this? I have read about Aerify - wondering where a local source is or other alternatives.

I've used it and have seen my very sloped front lawn that gets a LOT of afternoon sun go from a very hard and compacted "soil" to soil that actually gives a bit when walked on - I can even hand-pull weeds and get the roots! I also see much less run-off when I water. I'm sold on it and use it simultaneously in combo w/their product "Soil Activator".

That said, I'm surprised to see that anyone else even knows about this product - I think I'm the only one that has recommnended it on MOL so far. I told Millstone about my results and they were very skeptical that it can really work. (Maybe it has a placebo effect.)

I'd invite you to check out my lawn, but I currently have a shameful crab-grass problem b/c I apparently didn't properly use my preemergent control this spring!

Oh, and the only alternative for aerating you lawn is the plug pulling machines that I believe all lawn service companies have. It's a lot less expensive to try Aerify. I think one bottle of the concentrate is less than $20 and has lasted me a couple summers.

Also, since I never used the Aerify alone, but always with the soil activator, I guess I'm not really a good reference on that product alone. But, they now sell a pre-mixed combo bottle of the two products.

I'd be very willing to try this - is there a local source?

(Yeah, I know... I sound like an addict looking to score - but hey, this is my LAWN we're talking about, it's not an addiction: it's an obsession).

http://www.natureslawn.com/

It's as local as your house, via the internet. (Only place I've seen it anyway.)
