I've scoped out Lowe's, HD, and Sears for a little shed that will house my garbage cans and my neighbors cans. Our cans are on the side of my neighbors house, but in my full view every time I come in the back door (my default door). Our houses are very close together. I've offered to buy the shed for both our garbage cans, but am having trouble finding one of the correct size! Has anyone purchased one of these, or maybe made one that I can copy? The dimensions are approx. 2'6" deep, 8' long, and 3 to 4 ft high. |

I'm pretty sure I've seen these Rubbermaid items around, if not at Lowe's or the evil Home Depot, maybe BB&B? |

Many thanks, tom. That model looks very close to what I'm seeking. I haven't come across that one yet on my travels, but it could be that my brain is becoming addled from all the stuff I need to get for the house, and all the work that needs doing! Thanks again -- |

We got that model from Home Depot. It holds four to six bags so would do for two families (two bags each per pickup). We've got bushes on three sides to soften the view and it beats what was there when we moved in (free standing metal cans). |

Check with your garbage collector because if I am not mistaken, in SO at least, garbage cans are not to be enclosed in any structure and are supposed to be out in plain sight (in the back of the house of course).

I will check on that, wnb. I did see the Rubbermaid Model at HD today, $129.00. |

wnb: I think that only pertains to the time of day when the garbage collection is taking place, right? They can't possibly care if we hide them when they're not collecting. We have to keep the "food" garbage in the rear vestiblue because of the mangy racoons who feast there if we don't. I gotta get one of those rubbermaid things and a lock! |

I can't remember what mine costs (it was years ago) but I thought it was more than $129. Maybe a different model. Then again my memory is worth sh*t. If it holds two cans side by side or six garbage bags then that's it. |

True but then you have to remember to put your cans out and back in again. If you don't mind then no big deal, but the first time you forget you will be bummin'!
