My window unit is building up condensation on the underside of the front of the unit. IOW on the surface just above the interior window sill. I have to keep a towel under the a/c to keep the condensation from pooling and spilling on the floor, and I'm just waiting for the paint on the sill to blister and peel. What might it be? Oh, and the unit has ample tilt backwards to the outside. At least as much as my other units that don't do this.

Are the drainage areas clean to allow the water to flow out? I had to drill extra ones in mine so that I wouldn't hear the fan splashing the water that collects in the pan. I drilled a number of holes near the back of the unit to make sure all the water escapes out and none build up inside the unit. I made sure I wouldn't hit any lines before drilling of course. |

My crappy Chinese made Frigidaire unit does the same thing because the little orifice at the back where the condensation water is supposed to drain clogs with airborne debris. Frigidaire says the unit is supposed to be full of water to help cool it, but they are stupid. I have such a tilt on the unit, that if it tilts any more, it will surely fall out. |
