Hey My landlord does not take care of the garden as she should, does anybody know where I can call to get this taken cared of? ( Yes I did ask her again, to cut the grass...) |

If it is really high you can call the Health Department. They could issue a summons. I don't think you want to go there. Try sending a letter to the landlord instead. This way you will have it documented. |

F_C, are they meant to take care of it? I image you know your lease well enough but there are clauses on some leases (I've had them) where the tenants are responsible for the upkeep of the outdoor space. If the Landlord is responsible fabulouswalls is right, start with a letter, but I would definately send it certified or another trackable/signature needed method. |

It could be that he hasn't read his lease. If you are on talking terms with him explain the situation, although i'm sure he can see it himself. Ask him to check his lease, if is states it there that he is responsible, he has to take care of it. If he doesn't then I would imagine the landlord will be required to step in and have it taken care of and will charge the guy downstairs whatever it costs to have it done. If of course the landlord is stating that it is him and it isn't, then proceed with the letter stating that per the town code, the outside space needs to be cared for, and if they are not willing to attend to it in a timely manner, you will have it taken care of and will deduct the invoiced amount from your next rent payment. Again, this must be certified etc. So, first step is to check the lease of the guy downstairs... |

I got entirely wrong thoughts in my head when I read that subject line. |
