Hmmmm. Well I think that there would be about 33 people around the tree with an average armspan of 5 feet or so which would make my guess....

167 feet.

Here's an interesting fact about local oak trees. If you have a swamp oak in your back yard, it means the area was a wetland when it started, 150-300 years ago (depending on tree's age). Might explain some drainage problems and underground streams around here.

There is a thread about trees in the SO specific section about large trees on municipally owned land.

Does anyone have a red Crepe Myrtle, think the variety that grows here might be Red Rocket?

Why are the green berries falling off my holly tree? Don't remember this happening before, I wonder what would cause this, especially now, when they are about to be turning red.

I have a few questions, but I don't know whether they belong here:

There are mushrooms growing on my mulch, again. I removed a bunch about 1 month ago, but they're back. What's the real cause? What can I do to keep them from coming back? Is there a problem with the mulch?

Thanks for your help.
