Hi all: We've got a brick flue in our kitchen that's currently covered in plaster. We've had to expose some of it to make a new base cabinet fit. We're wondering two things:
--Should we seal the brick before installing the new base cabinets (to minimize potential mortar dust creeping out from behind the cabinets). If yes, what should we seal it with?
--We're also considering exposing the rest of the brick flue as a decorative detail in the kitchen. It would look slightly rough, but the mortar seems intact. Just wondering what's involved in creating a clean, finished exposed brick wall (unpainted).
Anyone have experience with this? tx!
