I'm sure there's information on this topic somewhere in the archives, but I haven't been successful at using the search tool in several tries, so apologies if I'm going over a well-trod topic. We desperately need gutter repair as well as some new gutters (there's never been a front gutter on our deeply sloped front roof, which has recently done some awful things to our foundation plantings). Since the former owners' kitchen renovation included copper gutters, I'd like to look into them for the rest of the house. Can anyone recommend a good company for copper gutters -- or, if those prove too expensive, traditional gutters? Many thanks. |

We had a great experience using Bower & Co. from Kearny, N.J.(201-955-1700) to replace all of our gutter/leaders with copper half rounds. We had seen their copper work on a house in Nutley on a Garden Conservancy garden tour. They are very experienced in copper. Bower suggested a larger size gutter than had previously been on the house and we no longer get any spillover as we did in the past. They also have an interesting method of attaching the leaders to the house – the leaders can actually be removed and re-attached easily for house repairs/painting. The gutters mellowed nicely in a year (we chose not to paint them). If you would like to see the work, private line me at rudy_lynn2003@yahoo.com and I will give you the address. |
