A few of the original windows in our house aren't working right. Any recommendations for someone I could call for this small job? Sherri, would Honey Do be interested?

Two windows won't stay up, 1 I can't pull down, and a couple of others could use a tweak.

(sorry, I can't work the Search this morning, can't locate the terrific old guy who made all the windows work when we moved in, and DIY is not an option.)

Ken, a great old gentleman put them all in working order when we moved in 11 years ago, but I've lost his number and he's no longer advertising in the News Record (maybe because he was well over 80 even then).

The work is not that time-consuming if you know what you're doing (which I don't). He freed them up, replaced chains as needed, etc. on 20+ windows in under a day, and this is the first time we've needed help since. Unfortunately, it's just when our house is on the market....

(bump)

Don't have the number handy, but I've used Buncher's Hardware store in Millburn on Millburn Ave. Fast, same day service and reasonable imo.

MJC yes Rich can do this work for you. He's got work a few weeks out but would be able to do this. Please call me 973.763.4726 so he can stop by one night this week to take a look at it. We've done this several times at other homes and he also did our 22 windows before we ultimately replaced them with Pellas. Sherri.

FYI. Rich replaced an old window with a new one for us and did a good job.

Thank you so much, Pdg and Sherri! Sherri, I left a message on your phone, and Pdg, if Rich can't schedule I will definitely call Buncher's. Thanks!!

(we are now out of attorney review, and inspection could be anytime...)

Careful with whom you contract. There is a contractor posting on this board who will make a deal with you and then choose a more lucrative job instead.

Happy to say Rich and Sherri from Honey Do were able to come by yesterday and fix the immediate problem. Will schedule more later on.

Thanks R & S!!
