I have a 30" x 12" shelf area at the back of a renovated bathtub area. I'm looking for a small piece of black granite with 2 bull nose edges. I've looked around a little and am not finding much. 4 years ago I was looking for a similar piece for a different bathroom and found a contractor who happened to be at BellStone in Newark while I was there buying other tile. (That place has great prices, btw.) I followed him to his shop and he cut and honed a scrap piece in about 20 minutes and charged me only $30. Now I'm geting quotes for $200-$300. Thoughts? |

I have a scrap piece (kitchen sink cut-out) you could have. I'm uncertain about the size, but I think the sink is 30". I'll check tonight if you're interested and think you could find someone to shape and edge it. |

I don't think that 2-300$ is excessive for cutting, routing, and polishing 2 1/2 sq.ft.of granite.I do think you were extremely lucky the first time, but we have all heard about lightning not striking twice. |
