This morning I noticed a puddle of water by my refrigerator & after some investigation realized that the water hose to the ice maker sprung a leak. Fortunately, it was easy enough to turn off the water and disconnect the hose (which I will replace today). While I am at it, I figured I would also replace the water filter on that line to the ice maker. Looking online, I noticed that virtually everywhere says that filter should be replaced every 6-12 months!!!! Let's just say it has been...uh...more than 6-12 months since that filter was last changed. Do people really change that filter so frequently?? I've never noticed any issue with the taste of our ice. |

VIG, There is probably a little serial number tag inside the fridge with a toll free number (or google) - give model number to order...sometimes there are multiple packs that are less expensive than buying individuals |

I've been buying from this site for the past couple of years -- http://www.waterfiltermart.com/ Wouldn't hurt to do a froogle or pricegrabber to see whose prices are best with shipping. Last time, ebay had them, too -- put with shipping was more than the site above. Pete |

An old filter is much worse than no filter. Old filters build up and store bacteria. Change your filters frequently. If you're not going to do that, get rid of them altogether. Master Plvmber |
