I have old white subway tiles in the bathroom (at least I think that is what they are called). Most of them have very very fine cracks in the enamel which you really cannot notice - except in the ones that are dirty. On those, I've tried various tile cleaners, but have not had any luck yet getting dirt (mold, I'm assuming) out of the fine cracks. Has anyone else come across this problem? If so, how did you resolve it? The tiles are otherwise in very good condition and I don't want (and cannot afford, anyway) to replace them. Thanks! |

Its called crazing and it part and parcel with older tile or any older glazed objects.Nothing to do except to enjoy the charm and function of materials that have performed well but are starting to show their age. |

They do make cleaners designed for old china with the same problem... but they also make Sap Remover for your car and that doesn't work either. -John |
