With all the rain this weekend, we got a flood in our basement which soaked our carpet down there with lovely muddy water. We got up the puddles with a wet-vac, but the carpet still needs a good cleaning (& hopefully to get rid of the damp smell).

Any recommendations for someone who does this work and/or any tips on salvaging the carpet (flat commerical grade with no padding)?

I have a dehumidifier running, which is helping, but it seems like an uphill battle to get the carpet dry.
