Our 50 gallon gas fired water heater is on its last legs. I guess since it is 16 years old this shouldn't be a surprise. :-)

Any suggestions on costs, brands and installers? Does anyone have experience with using Home Depot? They will install a 50 gallon GE with a 12 year warranty for just over $500 and haul away the old unit. }
