I'm hoping to get a recomendation for a bathroom makeover. Any/all suggestions are welcome.

Remove:
• The ugliest Pink tiles known to mankind on walls, floor and shower surround
• Broke-down toilet (also pink)
• Teeny-tiny sink (you guessed it, pink)
• A vanity that wishes it came from Home Depot it's so junky (light cherry, HA, pink)

Replace with:
• New tiles for floor, walls and shower surround (nay need new backer)
• New vanity with sink and hardware
• New mirror/cabinet
• New Toilet (pressure assist, 1.5g)

Electrical
• Minimal, maybe add an outlet or two

Plumbing
• No pipe moves required

Homeowners
• Very easy to work for

Call George. He's done stuff like this for me.

What period are those tiles and sink from? I like pink tiles from the 1920's, though I can't think of how I could use them at this point.

Pink baths are a 1950s thing. Purple would be more 1930s, kinda art deco.

Believe it or not, pink and green baths are coming back.

All the pink is circa 1948, thanks for the feedback.

We also have a pepto-bismol pink bathroom -- and a matching powder room. We will get rid of them one way or another. Apparently the decorator who did this was behind the times, it was installed in 1960.

We have two pink 7 gal flush toilets that work just fine. So if anyone is interested, but not in a hurry, let me know, and you can be first on the list when we redo our bath.

I have spent far too much time over the last 2.5 years working to eradicate pepto-pink. The *whole house* was pink when I bought it. ... except for the lovely robin's egg blue bathroom (that I am dying to nuke right down to the studs.)

Try this for a laugh: http://www.pangalacticenterprises.com/bad_decorating.html

We have the pink -- actually, it's sorta near what the Crayola people used to call "Flesh" in the old days. With...maroon accents! The tub was more towards "Flesh." Had the sink and toilet replaced with similar color as cannot afford total redo at this point. Found a 3/4" tile type at Newark Tile that's a melange of these pinks.

Trying to learn to love it -- and offset with pattern/white! Upstairs bath is the mint green/aqua combo of that period. There, too, trying to learn to love it and work with it...

Kitchen a sort celery green with grayish pink counters.....!!! Hoping folks are right about this coming back...

Cynicalgirl ,
To me those colors sound wonderful. I would think twice about changing them. I agree with bobk that they are now in fashion.
