Contrary to popular belief, Home Depot is not the cheapest place to get home fix-it supplies and related items. It's just the most convenient, and like every other lemming I head there all the time. Sigh!

Anyhow, does anyone have any insights on other good alternatives for various home fix-in stuff?

There was an article in last Thursday's Gardening section in the Newark Star Ledger that spoke about the old fashion hardware stores. I'm sure if you go on the Ledger's website, you can find the article and get some information.

Thanks! Interesting read. Here's the link for anyone else who's interested.

That said, any recommendations for hardware stores in the area would be great!

Thanks!
