I bought a bottle of latex sealant at Home Depot for sealing the draft cracks around the window frames in my house.

Does anyone know if this stuff is harmful or dangerous once it dries??

It says on the label that it can cause cancer -- would this come from being in the same room with the stuff day after day for X amount of time or from sticking the nozzle up your nose?

Would you use this stuff in your bedroom?

Anything better than latex sealant? What about silicone?

I think silicone is more poisonous than latex. So even though silicone is more effective, people tend to use latex indoors. Also latex is paintable, silicone is not.

Better check the caulking on the outside of your windows as well. Use silicone for that if necessary.

I wouldn't bo too worried about it. We use it and many other materials that are far worse then latex.
Just about everything you touch, smell and eat can cause cancer these days. However in most cases you'd need to injest more than an elephant would eat in a life time to become a victim.

Best to you.
