What size beam are you looking for? If it's not to big, you may find it at Home Cheapo. But, I wouldn't think so. Call Alberona welding in Orange on Valley street. |

HD/Lowes sells basic 25ga steel studs for hanging DW, and the accompanying track for top and bottom plates. For anything more structural, you may be able to get it through a drywall supplier, as a special order. |

I need a beam that can support some weigtht. Check HD, no dice. On second thought, I decided to have an engineer look the situation over before I do anything foolish. |

I purchased one at a business on Freeman St., just down the street from Orange Valley Hardware & Lumber. Orange Valley Hardware & Lumber is at 606 Freeman Street in Orange(973)676-0900, and this place is on Freeman, close to Scotland Road. Call Orange Valley Hardware & Lumber and they will tell you the name of the company and perhaps a phone number. Cash got me a better price. It is a quick drive, out Valley, which becomes Scotland Road, just past or just before the Highland NJT Train station. Later, jgberkeley |

You can also go to Meile Iron Works on Route 22 across from Best Buy. Ray Meile helped me put together components for my custom built outdoor grill. He was great to work with and inexpensive

Near Libretti's? Ok, I got the thumbs up from the engineer. Time to begin raising the cantilevered bay window. One beam, two jacks. I can't wait to hear that plaster start popping. |
