We are in the process of a gradual 'facelift' of our kitchen. I've painted our old wood cabinets, changed the hardware, bought some new stainless appliances. I would like a slate (natural stone tile) floor (laid over existing hardwood floor) and granite to replace 2 formica counters. I spent a very frustrating afternoon at Expo and not sure where to go next. These are relatively small jobs for a contractor and I know it's important for slate to be put down by someone who knows what they are doing. Suggestions of where I should try next? I would love someone who could do both jobs but it's not necessary.

I had a granite countertop installed today by All Granite and Marble (www.allgraniteandmarble.com). They seem to have done a good job (the stove is a bit tight, but fits) and their prices seem reasonable. They can install pretty quickly, too. |

They measured, removed old counters, and installed new ones? Did they remove and replace sink and reattach plumbing and disposal? If so, can you PL me with your # so we can talk some more? |
