I need to have a middle ridge beam replaced and cross beams or collar ties added to the rafters in my unfinished attic. Anyone know who can do this or have experience with this sort of thing? Do I need an engineer to come in and have a look?
The roof has a very minor sag to it so this would be a largely preventative move, but I'd like to get it done before that home inspection completely slips my mind and any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I'm assuming that there's a ridge board existing?
You may want to just have the collar ties installed now and wait till spring to do the balance. I suggest this only because of the exposure and the possibility of pandoras box.
