We have some dead space next to our dishwasher and underneath a cabinet.

UNDER_CABINET

Any advice on what to use to insulate here? It is very drafty. Is it a bad idea to insulate right next to the dishwasher?

Thanks!

Looks like you're missing a toe kick (a piece of wood that covers up the hole).

yeah, we took it off because we just redid the floor. Since it was drafty before that, we wanted to fill it in with something before we put on the molding. Do you think just getting a tight seal with the toe kick will be enough? Our old floor was really, really cold (on a cold day, could not stand on it without slippers). The new floor might be better (we haven't had a cold day since we put it in), but I'd still like to do as much as possible to make things warmer.

One more thing- it might not be visible from the photo, but there is empty space from the front of the cabinet/dishwasher all the way back to the outside wall of the house.

If the draft is coming from the walls where the pipes are coming in, you can seal it with insulating foam. Otherwise, maybe you can shove a piece of fiberglass insulation in there
