Sometimes after running the dishwasher, there is a grainy residue (looks like a few grains of sand) on the outside of some of the glasses. I have no idea where this is coming from. I am using liquid dishwasher detergent, so I don't think this is undissolved detergent. Any ideas what this is and how to resolve? |

I have the same problem. I see the residue on the inside of mugs or tall glasses. I use a powder. I have no idea. My dishwasher is only 2 years old. |

Forgive me if this posts twice. My computer flipped out for a sec. Your filter may need cleaning. I called a repair person when I had similar symptoms and he: 1. Cleaned out the filter. I've since done this myself a few times and it's easy as long as you remember the order in which you disassemble/re-assemble 2.Told me to run an empty diswasher thru a cycle using Tang (the astronaut drink) powder instead of dishwasher soap every month or so. This has worked well for me. |

Ginny, when I did an internet search on this problem, undissolved powder was cited as a common cause. So, maybe switching to a liquid will solve your problem? I am already using a liquid. Mickey, thanks for the advice. I will try this! |
