I would welcome any references for a good handyman who has lots of experience fixing old garage doors. The door is quite heavy(made of wood) and one of the metal guides has broken away from the wood post. It may be a simple job, but I'm looking for someone who has done this type of work. Also curious as to what the going rate to repair the garage door system may be. Thankx. |

I second Dave on Elite Door. Alan Dynan is the owner, and he lived in Maplewood until very recently. We've had him do work for us twice, and he was fair, instructive, incredibly responsive and prompt, and generally a nice guy to work with. We need a new door in our new house now, and will call him when we're ready to do it. You can reach him at: 973-731-8800.
