Good prices, fast, reliable service.
Good luck.
BTW, real wood costs about the same as faux...

When we moved into our house a year and a half ago we bought cheapy wood blinds from Ikea as a temporary measure. We've gotten so many compliments on them and really like them, so we've kept them on all the windows. They were about $30 each and might be good if you just want to put one or two up and see how you feel about wooden blinds.

Fabulous Wallcoverings in West Orange, near the Edison Factory. They seemed very nice, and competitively priced, but I have to admit that we haven't actually worked with them so far(we did the window shopping and never purchased, but would go back to them first...)

I got nice faux wood ones from decoratetoday.com. I got the off white color. They actually sent me the wrong item first (without twill tapes) and then sent me the correct pair, but never bothered to pick up the wrong ones. So, I got 2 bathroom windows done for less than $50. (I ordered one so I could make sure I liked them before I ordered the second set.) Not sure if that's a great endorsement, but I'm ok with the free blinds.

We got good ones at Home Depot. Price depends on width but they were around $25 each on average. Grand Wood 1" blinds. Very nice.

believe it or not, we got really good wood blinds from JC Penney about 6-7 years ago. at that time, not too expensive.

Have you looked locally at Maplewood Awning and Shade on Springfield Avenue?

I used Blinds to Go for our ENTIRE upstairs for faux wood 2" blinds (they have other sizes though). IMHO, Smithandnoble have nice products and beautiful catalogs and swatches but I did much better at Blinds To Go in Livingston. The salespeople are really nice and they carefully check your measurements. They also have contractors that can measure and install (for a fee) if you aren't comfortable doing it yourself. Just to give you an idea, I ordered ten blinds on a Tues. and they were ready to be picked up on Fri. We are really happy with them and are going back to them for some natural material shades. Oh! You can find coupons in ValPak and sometimes they "hook you up" with one in the store if you place a nice order

I'm with Joan - Maplewood Awning and Shade - they came to my house, measured, brought a huge book of samples for me to choose from, then returned to install. Effortless for me and the blinds look great. Easy way to support a local business.
