Does blown insulation effectively eliminate the ability to snake wires behind walls? I would assume it would, unless it's a lot less dense than I think. Looking to paint the exterior this year but redo kitchen in a couple. Thinking I should insulate before the paint job, but if it's gonna make trouble for the kitchen renovation, then I don't know... |

To avoid the question, when you redo your kitchen the contractor is probably going to want to pull down the plaster and lath and replace it with sheetrock. In the end this is usually neater, quicker and therefore cheaper than trying to patch the plaster walls, including the holes the electrician makes to run wires through studs. Edited to add: Also, it is probably easier to use batt insulation when the walls are open than blown in.
