Has anyone ever had any experience with anything like this?

We had explored this Englert Leaf Guard system, but found out the leaders, those heading from the gutter down the side of the house, had to be twice the size of regular leaders. They were the ugliest things I had seen. We did go with Leaf Filter, which uses surgical screen and a special channel to block out debris. The system worked well for us.

The NJ representative is located right there in Maplewood.

We used the leafguard system and accepted the larger downspout size. The system works great and I don't notice the larger downspouts.

tmb,

may ask how much it cost you to install the leafguard system on your house? and if you live in a small, medium, or large house?

I will second tmb's post. VMS, if I recall it was about the same as regular gutters. If I were installing it again , I would have snow melt cables put in on the north side of the house.

We had a representative from one of these seamless gutter companies out at some point and there was something "difficult" about installing them on our house. (I don't recall the details.) However, the illuminating comment from the representative ... once they had determined that they didn't want the job ... was that we could pay for years and years of bi-annual gutter cleanings for the cost of the fancy gutters.

Hmmmm.....

We live in a small colonial. 3 bedrooms, 1.5 bath. Englert installed gutters across the front and back, including extra gutters along the kitchen bump-out and sun room. They did it in an afternoon and were very clean. All told, I think it ran about $1600.
