Just saw a Weichert ad -- "Springfield Commons" in Maplewood 18 units .. but their website offers no info on where, when construction will be or occupancy...

I think that's the building going up near the Hilton Library and Maplecrest Park.

Springfield commons is in the old Orange Mattress site. I've also heard that condos with first floor retail are going in at both corners of Yale and Springfield, where Bumper to Bumper and the abandoned gas station are now.

Did the TC have to provide a Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) deal on any of these projects? SO seems to feel any new construction requires this sort of deal with the developer.

Bob,

Springfield Commons and the townhouses on the corner of Burnett and Rutgers are both purely private developments. As such, neither sought nor received any tax breaks.
