I have just received email from the Secretary to the Board of Adjustment. She has received a request from the applicant, Art Christiansen, to adjourn the case pending a court appeal he's filing. So this issue will probably NOT be heard this evening. |

The case will not be heard tonight although Art will apparently be making a statement before the board explaining the current situation. |

The request for adjournment was granted until the August 5th, Zoning Board meeting. |

It's taken me a couple of days to get to this, so its old news, but I'd still like someone to explain something to me. I understand both from the Star-Ledger and a neighbor who was there, that our township attorney, Mr. Desiderio, argued at the Board of Adjustment meeting Monday night that the township's position was that they didn't want the BOA to grant the adjourment to Christensen. Yet, on-line, Jerry Ryan alerted everyone that the case would not be heard that night, and I also understand that David Humer was giving people the same info. So, if 2 members of the TC are telling people not to come to the meeting, why is the attorney, paid by the TC, arguing to move forward? Did I misunderstand something or is someone playing games, and if so, who???? |

Mcr: your first post on MOL accuses people of playing games, eh? hmmm... Check my posting, please; the title of the thread is "may be" CANCELLED and my statement was qualified with "probably". I never told anyone not to go to the meeting. Can you show me where you think I said anything different, please? I received a copy of a letter sent to the Board of Adjustment requesting the adjournment. Such requests are generally, but not always, granted, which is why I said "may be" and "probably". I posted to alert folks as to what was going on. The Township Attorney argued before the Board of Adjustment that the matter should be heard and that the adjournment should not be granted. The Township has wanted this before the Board of Adjustment... the place that it belongs... for quite some time. It was right to request that the matter be heard... but I didn't expect that appeal to be successful. Why would you call this game playing? Jerry Ryan |

Mr. Ryan, in one area you posted, “There's also no antagonism from me toward ajc (or, indeed, toward most folks).” Then some guy makes his first post and you zap him with, “Mcr: your first post on MOL accuses people of playing games, eh? hmmm...” Can’t you see where many people get the impression that you are just a little antagonistic yourself? Since the person is new to posting and this is their first post, why not give them a break until you see how they post in general before busting their chops?

Silva...it's obvious you have a hair up your @$$ regarding Jerry and it's showing. Your posts are getting old real fast. Why don't you run for TC and do a better job? |

Cfa, I am sorry of my opinions and comment upset you. This is the second or third time you posted that you are tired of reading my comments. Well, don't. I have no hair for Mr. Ryan. He is a member of our Town government. I just posted two of his quotes. I did not make them up. Mr. Ryan made those statements, not I. I find them rather telling, and posted that opinion.

Art himself postponed the hearing. It has nothing to do with the Town Council. You can read Art's letter that requests the postponement in one of the Soapbox threads. |

Mcr, Welcome to MOL. Sorry for the delay in reply to your first post. Don't mind Jerry, he's only a past Mayor. He's harmless, and truth is, he's trying his best. If he jumps your bones again, just YELL AT HIM LIKE THIS!!!! Chances are he'll gravel a little, tell you he's done posting on MOL, or some other silly comment. Then before you know it he's back..... ps. If you want the real poop, drop over some morning for pancakes. |
