Problem With Town E-Mail?

Author Message   Joan Supporter Username: Joancrystal Post Number: 7109 Registered: 5-2001 Posted on Sunday, March 12, 2006 - 10:29 am:        I recently sent an e-mail message to a township department head and received the following message: Technical details of temporary failure: TEMP_FAILURE: Could not initiate SMTP conversation with any hosts: [mail.twp.maplewood.nj.us. (10): Connection timed out] Does this mean that the town's e-mail isn't working properly or is this an anomaly? The advantage of having a township government e-mail system is that residents who can't make it into town government offices during regular business hours have a quick and reliable means of communicating with our officials. I already got the reply from the department head I e-mailed on Friday and the response was everything I could have hoped for. Hears hoping the town doesn't have any more e-mail provider probelms in the future. This sounds like a good idea for Maplewood, if it isn't already legally required.
