The next meeting of the Maplewood Township Committee will be on Tuesday, July 16 at 8 PM in Maplewood Town Hall. The meeting will be simulcast on Comcast Channel 35. Jerry: Will the referendum, if it appears on the November ballot, be for a general constitutional convention or one limited to a discussion of re-examining the present means of financing public education in NJ?

The ordinance, if passed, places this question on the ballot: "Shall the Township Committee of the Township of Maplewood petition the Members of the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey to enact legislation that provides for a public vote to convene a State Constitutional Convention to reform the current system of local property taxation?" |
