Contact Beth Mcdonald, Springfield Ave. Partnership. I have her private phone not the business phone, but I am sure that it is listed. You can also reach her via her spouse, call Wooden You Know toy store on Springfield Avenue. Later, George |

In order for the produce to be fresh and local, they kind of have to wait for it to grow. |

I wish at least one of the markets (SO, MW or Millburn) would be open on a Saturday or at least open until 8:00 during the week. Although, thanks to the link Hommell posted, I see that Montclair has one. I may try that one this year. |

greenetree, good point and I'm not asking to have available products out of season, but March and April are great for citrus, April and May can start the season for some strawberries and beautiful flowers, May and June, Apricots and Peaches, June and July blackberries, blueberries, cherries, grapes, melons, plums,... (not even mentioning vegetables!) It seems with the market just starting in July, it makes me feel that I'm loosing a lot of good produce that it would be nice to have available between March and July. Maybe the farms in New Jersey are a bit delayed getting their products because of weather conditions, however, I see that the farmers market in Union Sq. in the city, with farmers from upstate NY (much northern than NJ) have enough products to be open all year round. I'm not asking to have an all year round market (if that's asking too much, although I would probably go there anyway), but it would certainly be really nice to have a farmers market in Maplewood open between March OR April until October.

That raises the question: do they sell only their own produce? I think local strawberries aren't ready until late June or so. And of course, citrus is never local.
