This is just an observation on my part but I have noticed two things as I walk home from the train station each evening.

1. On July 1st there was a sign on "dog hill" stating that a leash was required for all dogs. This sign seems to have disappeared. While most dogs seem to be walked on a leash now, there are still a few that are allowed to run free. Can we put the sign back up? How does the town enforce this?

2. The basketball courts in the park seem to have a sign stating that the basketball courts are for Maplewood residents only. I think it even gives reference to the fact that you may be required to present an id. I just don't see this happening. I don't see how you can ensure that Maplewood residents are the only ones using it unless you staff it like you do the pool and that is unrealistic. I would think that if non-Maplewood residents are OK to play, then take the sign down or else enforce it.

Any thoughts?

Are you sure there is such a sign at the basketball courts? I thought would be illegal, since they were built with state money.

The town, even though they said they would, does not enforce the leash law.

Re : Basketball courts

Lseltzer, their is such a sign. Thevillagepub, it has been found unenforceable (Green Acre monies used and therefore must be open to all) by the T.C .
