Anyone know if recycling will take place this coming Friday? Or is Good Friday a holiday? Thanks! |

Well, that's our scheduled day for Bulk pick-up, so I'd assume it's recycling too. We aslo have recycling that day...the front of our house is gonna be a sight. |

Thanks, mimosa - didn't know there was bulk pick-up scheduled, but that certainly makes it sound like recycling will go also. |

Why would they schedule bulk pickup on the same day as recycling for the same zone? Seems like a no-brainer to try to avoid that unless I'm missing something (?) |

The recycling schedule is set for the year....like clock work...Bulk pickup is going to happen in some district no matter what the schedule is. It is not a question of them both being scheduled at the same time. |

On the town's website, Good Friday is NOT listed as one of the observed holidays. |

BGS - I understand that, but it is totally possible and clearly desirable not to schedule bulk pickup in a district on its recycling day. So, those who set up the bulk pickup schedule just need to look at the recycling schedule when they do it. After all, there are only two recycling days per month for any given area. I think these items may even come under the same department (public works?) but I guess I can't swear to that. |

The main reason to avoid having the two go together is that there is a good chance our recycle containers (along with the recyclables) will be considered junk and be taken away. I vaguely remember those days falling together in my district a few years ago. Can't remember how we resolved it. Perhaps a call to Public Works is in order. At the worst, skip putting out the recyclables that one time and bring them to the center if you're overflowing before the next pick-up date. Just my opinion. |
