I noticed this on the MOL calendar. Quote:May 18, 2006 Mpwd. Township Committee Democratic Primary Forum Time: 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM Information: Nancy Adams, Lester Lewis-Powder, Kathy Leventhal and Ken Pettis are candidates in the Democratic Primary for Township Committee, which will be held Tues., June 6th. The Hilton Neighborhood Association is sponsoring a Candidates Forum where the candidates will respond to questions they have received prior to the forum and then will take questions from the audience. We are hoping to have some of the other neighborhood associations join us in formulating the questions and sponsoring the event. Everyone is invited to learn about the candidates' positions on important issues. We hope to have the event shown on Channel 35. Address: DeHart Center, 120 Burnett Ave., Mpwd.
It's a very good opportunity to see and hear the four candidates, and to learn about the issues. Not that the "pre-game show" in this category hasn't been amusing. |

I would doubt it - I think the only place set up for live feed is Town Hall. Let's just hope that someone actually comes to tape it. |

The folks of the Hilton Neighborhood Association are always very gracious hosts. There may be cookies (even if it's not televised live). |

We always put out refreshments. SOMA had something else to tape so it doesn't look like it will be televised. There is an outside shot that SOMA is going to let us use the equipment if we found someone to work it. Don't know how that ended up. Eric |

I think Ken Pettis was the clear winner in tonight's debate. Of the four candidates, he stood head and shoulders above the others in terms of his knowledge of the town, our governmental processes, and his ability to convey a sense of independence that sets him apart from everyone else. One of the questions that came up tonight was whether Frederico deserves another term as the Mayor. Frankly speaking, I think Ken ought to be given very serious consideration as our next Mayor. In terms of the other candidates, I am undecided. The challengers were much better and more knowledgeable than I expected but some of their answers were, um, factually-challenged and borne out of inexperience with the way things work in this town and our local government. It's easy to criticize K&K for tax increases and point to our tax bills - every candidate does that in June and/or November - but it's a lot harder to solve the issue when that burden is placed on your shoulders. Overall the debate was rather good all around.

I think Ken Pettis was the clear winner in last night's debate. I'll agree with you on that one "S", plus all the candidates were well prepared and the debate was very well run. Congratulations again to the Hilton Neighborhood Association for another job well done...
