Jerry:

Some neighbors on my block (lower Courter Avenue) were circulating a petition this past weekend for a block party to be held on September 21, rain date September 28th. Is it too late to get that application added to the agenda for the next TC meeting?

0Dearest Mr. Ryan,

I would like to protest Joan's application in advance of the meeting. I was planning to drive down Courter Avenue at roughly 1, 2 and 4 pm on each of those days.

I do NOT want to be inconvenienced in any way by these block parties because if I get tired and need to park, I am limited from doing it on Elmwood - SO THAT IS OUT and I don't really like the other parallel streets.

I will be organizing an organization organized explicitly to protest this so called block party and will work my darndest to prevent it from being held.

I think you agree with me that this is a poor idea and I fully support your co-desire to put the ki-bosh on it right now.

I would like to go on and state that I will not be drving down Courter tomorrow or on the first Saturday of October. So if you would like, perhaps yourself, Joan, the Chiefest Executive, the King of All, NjJoSePh and Sbenois can get together to work out an amicable solution to this problem.

Sure NjJoseph has nothing to do with this issue but I'm really just testing to see if he does ignore my posts.

But I must caution you that I am serious about this issue and will protest until the last breath leaves my lungs or that funky eyecrust that forms in the corner of my eyes falls out in the morning - whichever comes first.

That should pretty must tell you that this is something I am deadly serious about. This is a big deal to me and I will fight it endlesly and needlessly if need be.

Thankey.

Joan: If you're willing to test the wrath of Sbenois :-), call town hall and ask the clerk, Liz Fritzen, if it can get on for Tuesday night.

Sbenois: I *hate* that funky eyecrust stuff, don't you?

Jerry,

Some neighbors on my block (lower Elmwood Avenue, above Boyden and including all of Fleming Terrace) were circulating a petition this past weekend for a big block party to be held 9:00PM to midnight, Monday, Oct 7th, freezing rain, or snow date February 14th.

I hope it's not too late to get that application added to the agenda for the next TC meeting as well? I thought as long as you are being so easy with Joan, you might allow me to call Liz too?

PS: I'm not worried about the wrath of Sbenois, there is no way it can be any worst than mine! Thank you. Art

Jerry:

Thanks. I'll pass your message along to the organizers.

Sbenois:

I sincerely hope you will drive along Courter Avenue at 1 PM, 2 PM, and 4 PM on the date of the block party. Since the block party would not be starting until later, you should have no problem getting through. You would be right on time for the huge garage sale which is scheduled to be held prior to the block party, assuming the block party makes it to the TC calendar on time. Lots of great stuff will be on sale. We can even arrange to have partially used boxes of last year's chumetz on sale (all completely kosher since it was bought back from the gentile families which purchased it just before the holiday started).

Looking forward to seeing you on that day.

Jerry: Thanks. I'll pass your message along to the organizers, and I take back anything you ever thought I said about you.

Sbenois: Take a drive along Elmwood Avenue at 9PM on the date of the block party, but please don't call the fire department when you pass Winchester Gardens. I have it from a reliable source they organized a candle light vigil with over 346 dripless candles...

Since the block party will not be starting until after the hearing, you should have no problem getting through; just don't plan on parking. BTW, if you’re interested, the neighbors are also having a huge used lawn mower and leaf blower sale. Lots of other great stuff will be on sale, so be sure to bring some cash….

Thanks to the TC for approving our block party on such short notice. We also appreciated the uniformed officer stopping by to make sure everything was okay. The super yard sale (great stuff from every family on both sides of the street) also went great.

Sbenois:

I was at the Lower Courter Avenue Yard Sale at 1 PM. No car drove down the block.

I was at the Lower Courter Avenue Yard Sale at 2 PM. No car drove down the block.

I was walking down lower Courter Avenue bringing goodies to the mid-block location for the block party at 4 PM. No car drove down the block.

We scheduled the block party for after 4 PM solely out of respect for your strong objection to our blocking the street at the three above times.

I think you owe me and my neighbors an appology.
