It is supposed to be extremely hot between 6 and 9 PM this evening. Is this event still on for this evening? |

What sort of refreshments are on the agenda? I.e. can we make a meal of it (always a plus on a hot night when no one wants to cook) or do we need to eat first and just plan on it being drinks and snacks? |

Thanks to all who put time and effort into this evening. This includes all the local establishments that donated to the raffle. The kids had a great time. Special thanks to boy who answered 'ET' and shared his prize. It made my son's night! |

Sgt. Naddeo and the rest of the department did a great job. You could see that a lot of effort was put in to this night and that the department cares about the community. Way to go guys. |

We also had a nice time, even with the heat - thanks to everyone who donated their time, energy, good spirits and to the local merchants who donated some very nice prizes! The DJ was awesome. Thanks MPD for putting together another great community event! |

Thanks for the positive feedback. We are extremely appreciative of all of you who came out and braved the extreme heat- I still can't figure out why the national organization chooses the first Tuesday of August to hold the event! The local merchants and volunteers were also phenomenal. They deserve lots of fanfare. We are already thinking about next year: we know we will need more "real food", and we will probably set up a dunking tank. Any ideas, please let me know. Again, thanks again everyone. Sgt. Dean L. One thought for next year... i saw several big banners hanging up around town that said National Night Out and the date, but there was absolutely no reference to what it was. Was it for kids? Adults? Would there be activities? Food? I had to go online and find the official NNO website for a clue. (Of course, i didn't see this thread at the time.) I know the banners are probably mass-produced that way, but more publicity somehow - or even a website url on the banner - would've been handy. |
