Last December I noticed how sad and pathetic our town "Xmas" tree looked, sitting there in Ricalton Square, with lights strung from a few scattered branches. I looked again last night and realize that it's been pruned so much (I know it needed it) that maybe it's time to find another town tree. I have no political/religious stand on the matter; I enjoy all the lights and festivities. But isn't there anything we can do to make the centerpiece of our town display less......... humiliating? |

How dare you call it an "Xmas" tree. I am offended. Now I will sue you and the town. |

My neighbor does a wonderful outdoor lighted tree every December. Perhaps that could be declared the official town tree. Even though it is not located in the village portion of Maplewood Avenue, it is very close to the geographic center of town. |

Do away with the tree completely. There will be more room for the Creche and the Mennorah. |

So we would just string the lights on the mayor when he does the annual "Night Before Xmas" reading? How tall is Fred and what colors look good on him? We need to plan ahead. |

Just like Linus said, "It's not a bad little tree....it just needs a little love." |
