Why would Maplewood choose to repair Boyden Avenue in the summer? Was it in such disrepair that it could not wait until the end of the pool season? In order to get to the pool, other than walking, you must drive through Irvington, park on a side street - if there is parking at all - and walk. There is no way to get into the pool parking lot. For those who live farther than "walking distance" to the pool, this does not seem possible.

I was so frustrated about missing swim lessons this morning! I was running late and the officer indicated that everyone had turned around and not gone to the lessons. He said the pool would be accessable again after noon.

So the closure is just for a few hours, then?

I think so. The pavers were almost at the pool entrance and the officer said if we went to the pool we'd be stuck there for about 3 hours.

Boyden needed to be paved during the summer months because of the school traffic.

A notice I saw (that Boyden Avenue residents received), indicated that paving of that stretch near the pool would be done at night to avoid such conflicts. Anyone know why they changed that?

My son is working at the pool, so I guess you can get there somehow.

I am glad to hear that someone got a notice about this. Couldn't they post signs on the street and at the pool to let anyone know? I was there today and the street isn't paved - it's now milled (is that the term?) and still needs to be paved. Does this mean it will be done on Monday? Again, there are no notices posted. I'd like to go to the pool with my husband Monday (a rare day off and the first time we could go together with our 4 month old), but am wondering if it Boyden will be open.

Who can we call to find out?

Correction to my earlier post. The notice said that the milling in that section would be done in the daytime but the paving would be at night. If that is correct and if, as Babymakes3 posted, the milling is done, then it should be accessible. I sure hope so!

You should be able to get to the pool on Monday, but you might have to come in from Elmwood Ave. The milling machine broke down on Friday so they didn't get the stretch of Boyden from the pool exit to SA.

sac, you are correct, they will pave this portion at night.
