Here are some questions Mr. Bigshot Politico:

1) You state that the meeting will be broadcast on Channel 35. Do I need to tune in to a specific FM radio channel to get the audio portion?

2) When are you and the rest of the All-stars going to finally recognize Sbenois for all of the good things he has done for the town? When am I going to receive the Maple Leaf Award? Don't I deserve it more than anyone else?

3) I have been told that after Fred's beautiful letter to the News-Record last week that every bi-weekly variety show is going to begin with a prayer and a hand holding session. Is this true?
If so, will Fred and The C.C.E hold hands?

4) How tall is the Swingingest Member?

5) Do you realize that when the five of you are seated on January 1, you're going to look an awful lot like the Osmond Brothers? Does this trouble you? Can you ask Ian to sing Puppy Love?

6) Is the Chiefest Chiefest Executive going to authorize an invasion of Pleasantville? If not, why not? I would like this addressed at the beginning of the meeting as it may affect my schedule.

7) I would like an update on the town Web Site. I am interested in having a link put in place from the town's site to my new Sbenois Clam Shoppe. I am willing to make this a reciprocal arrangement similar to the one I am now discussing with CNN.

Thankey.

I have seen skate parks in Florida and California. Just curious as to what is the TC's version of a skate park for the pool parking lot.

WHAT NEXT????

The Community Swimming Pools, the new Playground, the new Perfect Solution Dog Run, the Ice Skating Pond that was originally planned for the parking lot, the spring Garden Club Plant Sale, the winter Rotary Club Christmas Tree Sale, the Parking Lot for the Apartments and NJ Transit, the Auto and Motorcycle Practice Training Lot, the Maplewood PD MV Spot Check Point lot, and now you want a Skate Park?

Mmmm.... good idea, why not?

Maplewood’s designation as the best place to live by Money Magazine

While I might agree with this phrasing I believe the correct version is "...a best place to live..."

p.s. whatever happened to the Perfect Solution Dog Park???

All talk and no action... So much for that saying, "Mans best friend." I guess the dog club went to the dogs!

PUBLIC NOTICE:

I am posting this notice because I intend to address the Township Committee again tonight under PUBLIC COMMENT on the issue of Ordinance #2189-02. This ordinance eliminated vehicles from stopping and standing on Elmwood Avenue in certain areas along the entrance to Winchester Gardens. The TC had previously advised that they would re-evaluate this ordinance by the end of the year and I have relied on their agreement to do so.

I will also make an effort to personally contact the residents who supported this ordinance so they may again participate in any debate that may arise.

I have previously raised my objection to this ordinance both on-line and before the township committee on several occasions. In brief, I believe the complaints raised by my neighbors of loitering, littering, and noise during dropping off and picking up employees, would be better addressed by the police, through the enforcement of already existing ordinances.

First let me say the new no-parking ordinance is not working. Vehicles continue to stop and stand in the same areas where they did before they eliminated the parking on our street. If the police don’t happen to drive by, the neighbors still have to call the police to get relief. In the mean time, the street has lost all parking 24/7.

Sufficient parking is an important and necessary prerequisite for any healthy, active residential or business neighborhood. It is almost unthinkable to take away street parking just because of complaints of loitering, littering, and noise.

This same issue could happen to any of you, so please allow me to offer the following example to see if you will agree that the parking should be returned to Elmwood Avenue, and that the better way to resolve this matter is by enforcing existing ordinances.

Here we go... What if some of your neighbors kids and their friends parked in front of your house several nights a week? Lets say they get out of their cars and started talking, laughing and carrying on late at night while you’re trying to sleep? They also throw cigarette butts and other garbage on your lawn.

HERE IS THE $64,000 QUESTION... Would you call their parents, call the police, or would you call the township committee and request they take away the parking in front of your house, including your neighbors for two blocks on both sides, plus two side streets as well?

Hey Art
Get real- you want the parking back so you can continue to run your catering/motel business. You don't care a bit either about your neighbors or any problems that the entire neighborhood has because of Winchester Gardens. Why don't you at least tell the truth.
You may as well bring up the parking on Parker Ave. Oh no- you lost the election so you don;t care about that anymore either.
You have a lot to learn about being a good neighbor- it is way more than paying taxes.

Softparade, trust me I am real, very real, and I’m not looking to get into it with you or anyone else...

Yes, the election is over, and who thinks I lost? When anyone talks the talk, they should be willing to walk the walk. These kinds of people don’t lose, and they’re not losers. Was Fred a loser last year, hell no… because this year he’s the winner.

As for the bed and breakfast, it may be closed now, but not forever. Anyway, all these things are not forgotten, and either is the parking issue on Parker Avenue and Burr Road.

As for being good neighbors, I believe Winchester Gardens and I are good neighbors. This post is ment to be all about PARKING, And being a good neighbor. My neighbors met allegedly for 8 months about their problems with Winchester Gardens, and in the process decided to take away our street parking without ever giving us a fair chance to object to it. Is that what you call being a good neighbor? What do you consider being a good neighbor really is? Please, give us all some details.

Look, I still believe its wrong whether it’s Elmwood or Parker Avenue, or any other location in town where groups of neighbors ban together to put their personal agendas before that of their neighbors. Parking in most towns like ours has become almost as important as water, and clean air. It doesn’t matter where you live in town, but if your home always had street parking in front of it, and one day your neighbors take it away, you lost a very valuable real-estate asset, and all the conveniences associated with it.

I don’t blame the TC. Municipalities throughout the state are too often forced into making decisions by very vocal, angry, and persistent neighborhood groups. Many times questionable ordinances are put on the books that are not fair to all people concerned. The trial period is now up and they had agreed to take another look. So, lets get ready to rumble....

Hey, Softparade… if by chance you are a neighbor of mine, or you know any of them who are, please pass the word that they should come to the TC meeting tonight to speak their mind. Thank you.
