Regarding the discussion item about the Elmwood Avenue parking.. let me guess..? Art Christensen is whining about 'his' parking again. I hope the TC is not fooled by him. This is not about Winchester Gardens and the problems of that neighborhood or the rights of all Maplewoodians..it is all about Art. Art wants/needs all the street parking he can get so he can continue LesSaisons catering hall/motel. Les Saisons is set back from the street and has plenty of parking inside. I suggest if Art wants more parking to use his own "Perfect Solution" and park his guests at the pool lot. I really object to him using the time of our Town Council for his personal agenda and profit. |

Softparade, Just be there… and stop all your constant complaining. I personally delivered over 50 letters to every resident in the area to advise them of the pending discussion on Item 14 - 1. Ordinance Number 2189-02 regarding Elmwood Ave. Remember, I ran on the slogan, “Fairness in Dealing.” I believe everyone affected should be given a say in this matter. Any request to repeal Ordinance # 2189-02 has nothing to do with Les Saisons, or Winchester Gardens, for that matter… it never did!! This discussion is about parking for our neighborhood, and the enforcement of existing ordinances that have long been on the books. Every day and night vehicles continue to drop off and pick up employees in front of Winchester Gardens. Everyone who passes knows this, as do all local residents and people at Winchester Gardens. Unless the town is willing to commit a full time police car there 24/7 to enforce the ordinance, nothing will ever change. Even if they did, parking, stopping, or standing was NEVER the issue. According to the Mayor and other members of the TC this ordinance was always about just trying to stop the loitering, littering, and noise directly in front of the entrance. And, now as Softparade has stated, and what I had suspected was the case all along, it was also about me. Well, the same principle applies to me as well. Whether it’s enforcing the no loitering, littering, noise, or the alleged illegally catered events at my home, the police will issue summonses, and in my case fine me $1,000.00 per day, and/or send me to jail for 90 days. HOWEVER, ALL OF THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE INAPPROPRIATE AND UNNECESSARY ORDINANCE THAT HAS TAKEN AWAY OVER 2,000 FEET OF PARKING FOR OVER 75 VEHICLES IN A THREE BLOCK RADIUS. Last weekend, after numerous other opportunities, I decided to finally prove this point to a group of residents on Fleming Terrace who have been continually violating the same ordinance they demanded be enacted. While having a party, their guest again had no place else to park except in the no stopping, no standing areas. I called the police and they did exactly what they’re paid to do…. ENFORCED THE LAW! The police came within a few minutes and ticketed all the guests who had illegally parked their cars. I guess no one thought enough about the guests to warn them. More probably, because the residents need the parking so often they figured no one is enforcing the ordinance, and told their guests to park there anyway! Talk about cut off your nose to spite your face… Go figure! Look, lets give relief to any neighbors who need it. But lets make sure we enforce the right laws for the right reasons. |

Softparade, please knock it off. I am one of Art's neighbors, and I have NEVER seen cars parked on the street in front of his house. I don't think he ever abused the situation. Given the dangerous nature of that intersection, I doubt he would encourage his guests to park there, anyway. Also, I have NEVER seen a problem in front of the entrance to Winchester Gardens. Perhaps I am never driving by at "pick-up time," but I would think I'd have noticed a problem at least once in 2 1/2 years. I've always suspected the remedy was too strong. I rarely agree with Art, and I almost never agree with his demeanor, but I believe he's right on the money with this one: enforce the right laws for the right reasons. |

AJC; You were an interesting character- now you are just so twisted it is unreal. You call the cops on your neighbors then you call for a repeal of this ordinance to help them all out? You have all their best interests and want to help out the whole neighborhood? No one is buying your pathetic story. You want the parking spaces for you and your business. You are so paranoid that you actually really believe the whole issue was about you and LesSaison. Cutting down your illegal operation appears to have been a side benefit of this ordinance and I for one applaud it. You are a terrible neighbor and the police reports, newspaper and postings right here on Maplewood on Line prove it. Art- you lost a lot more than the election this year. |

Softparade, After reading all that has been said, and after checking out the reported fact that the bulk of your postings are all about ajc, I have to say that I buy ajc's story. You have one focused online agenda. |

So Art- how did it go last night? My report is that not one neighbor showed up. 'nuff said. NJ you have a point- but if there was no problem I doubt either the rest of the neighbors, Winchester Gardens or the Town Council would have stood for this ordinance. And as for Mwsilva.. well you have a right to your opinion but unless you are the 'Amazing Kreskin' you don't know me at all or what my 'agenda' is. You meet all kinds of folks online so continue guessing. And for Dave and the rest of MOL- please accept my apology for stirring up this thread. It is the not the correct forum for this discussion and I acknowledge that. I am out of here now.

So, anyway, I could neither attend nor watch the meeting last night (it ended earlier than usual, no?). Does anyone know if Comcast said anything interesting? |

Softparade, You ask, I answer!! It went great last night. I was there and actually I was hoping you would be parading softly down the isle to represent your position in person... Njjoseph did get the point. As for the rest of the neighbors, Winchester Gardens, and the town council, well I believe they are willing to try just about anything to get relief from the problem. As stated last night, this ordinance is the third try to resolve the issue. However, it's not working because the remedy was too strong, and I believe everyone has begun to realize that to stop the noise, loitering, and littering, we'll need to enforce the right laws for the right reasons. I hope the neighbors who's guests cars have been ticketed, WG, the PD, and the TC now see that taking away over 75 parking spaces is not the answer to the alleged problem. Please consider one more thing... Lets say the people that come to pick up the employees walk to the front entrance of WG. Lets say it’s a warm summer night and they decided to walk because they live close by. Lets say they planned to walk their friend, wife, husband back home. Lets say there are 4 or 5, maybe more hanging out, making a lot of noise talking, throwing garbage around while waiting until they got off work... What are the neighbors going to do then? If they call the police, the police won't have any cars to ticket... DO YOU GET THE POINT? THIS IS NOT ABOUT PARKING CARS! THE IDEA IS TO STOP "PEOPLE" FROM DISTURBING THE NEIGHBORHOOD. And finally, no, I'm not the 'Amazing Kreskin' either, but with your posting record it has now become obvious to others and me what your real agenda is. Based on that, and now that I know that Cfa is not a woman, and after going over every post both of you ever made, and after I’ve taking the words you use, your style of speaking and writing, after matching for weeks all of this against the recorded video tapes I have saved from your public statements on Channel 35, I'm going to take you up on your public offer and take an educated guess... a very educated guess! MY GUESS IS YOU ARE L O R A D A V I S OF THE NOTORIOUS DAVIS FAMILY, WIFE OF PHIL DAVIS, MEMBER OF THE MAPLEWOOD PRESERVATION GROUP AND ONE OF THE FLEMING SIX. THE WOMAN THAT MADE A FALSE COMPLAINT AGAINST ME AND LOST IN COURT, THE WOMAN THAT STANDS UP WITH HER HUSBAND AND BADGERS ME IN FRONT OF THE TC AND THE TOWN EVERY CHANCE SHE GETS. THE SAME WOMAN THAT HAS BEEN ON A MISSION TO DESTROY MY REPUTATION, MY BUSINESSES, AND ME. YES LORA, I BELIEVE YOU ARE SOFTPARADE! If I’m wrong in my guess, I’m even willing to bet you my MOL posting privileges against yours. You stated, “You meet all kinds of folks online so continue guessing." Well, is your suggested guessing game over? Tell us Softparade, are you out of here, or am I? The ball is in your court sweetheart…

Before this goes any further I need to know which of you is Lokai and which is Bele. I know you're both a very long way from your home planet Cheron, but continued antagonistic behavior like this will force me to initiate the auto-destruct sequence on both of your accounts. * |

OK Dave, you’re the man, but this “antagonistic behavior” thing sounds a little strong to me. To bad, just when I thought I leveled the playing field. |
