I live on Boyden Parkway in a 3-family rental. The neighboring driveway is lighted at night by some of those very bright orangey lights. These are not motion-sensitive, but are on from dusk to dawn giving the same ambiance as the public housing in Irvington. They also light up the bedrooms in my apartment. Are there any restrictions on the books concerning outdoor lighting?

I hear you loud and clear Cathi. A neighbor of ours recently installed three ground level floodlights on both sides of their driveway. It sort of resembles the landing lights at Newark/Liberty airport runway 21N.

The lighting is most likely there for security reasons.

We have a bright town street light right outside our bedroom window. We have learned to use window shades at night and that solution works fine.

As a pedestrian who frequently walks to/from the train station in the pre-dawn/after dusk hours for several months every year, I'm glad to learn that some home owners are giving thought to night lighting.

Maybe I can retire my flash light one of these days.
