Jerry

With respect to:

16. RESOLUTION NUMBER 19-03

RESOLUTION TO PROVIDE FOR THE COMPENSATION OF OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MAPLEWOOD FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 2003

Is there a list of the township officials and employees and the proposed compensation for each?

Ed: 19-03 was supposed to be the salary resolution for the township legal department (judge, prosecutor, public defenders, twp attorney).

According to the clerk, this was placed on the agenda in error; it was on the agenda from last year and will probably be withdrawn from this year's because it's not necessary.

Johnny: it's a discussion about considering a moratorium on cell towers in town, discussing the legal issues surroundung such a thing, etc.

Jerry,
Congratulations, you are my first post.

As you discuss the cell tower issue tonite, will the new Town Council members be informed of the previously submitted petition by over 300 residents against the currently proposed tower?
I don't know if they received a copy.

Jerry,
I figured I would add these questions here.

Since the resolution last Tuesday regarding the moratorium, is there a chance that the Verizon case will not go further on Feb. 3?

Neighbors are itching to attend the next zoning board meeting, but don't know if the case will definitely continue. How do we know if it will?
And if it does, can Verizon hurry their case so it goes to a vote that Monday night?

Thanks.

The resolution was to ask the town's attorney to create an ordinance that would institute a moratorium. There is not a moratorium in place yet, and there may be some legal problems with instituting one in New Jersey, as further research by the legal department seems to be showing. Even if there were no problems at all with a moratorium, it would not be in effect until final passage of an ordinance, which would be AFTER the Board of Adjustment meeting... so I would think that the meeting will happen on Feb. 3 no matter what. I have no idea if they will be able to finish the case or not.

Suburbanguy,

Why would you want Verizon to hurry their case and have the vote that Monday night?

I was just asking if it is possible that they would try to hurry their zoning case to a vote before the town could get some kind of official position on the issue of cell towers. Or do they have to follow through with all the testimony that they outlined in their application.
I don't know what the process is.
