The next meeting of the Maplewood Township Committee will be held on Tuesday April 15 at 8:00 PM in Maplewood Town Hall. The meeting is cimulcast on Comcast Channel 35. The current agenda is posted below. (This is a little earlier than it is usually posted; the folks from the Clerk's office are away at a conference for the rest of the week, so they pulled this early draft together).

If you have any questions please post them here as a followup on this thread and I will try and get them answered.

The Township Committee will NOT introduce the ordinance on Cell Antenna and Tower Regulations this evening. More time is needed to refine the ordinance and include comments that have been received.

We are planning to introduce the ordinance at the May 6 meeting. The remainder of the plan for the ordinance is still in place (refer to Planning Board for their May 13 meeting, and have a hearing and final passage at the May 20 TC meeting).

The ordinance will be under "Discussion Items" this evening.

Mr. Ryan:

What is the delay? It seems that this has been in the works for a while. Also, will this delay cause this ordinance to NOT be in place before Verizon resumes its zoning board appearances in June?

The delay is needed to take the time to make sure that comments from all parties, especially parties with technical expertise in the area, are incorporated correctly and completely into a good ordinance. If we rushed it we risk missing out on including good information or maybe having a flawed ordinance.

The delay will NOT cause the ordinance to not be in place come June. That's what I said in my earlier posting: we still plan to finalize on May 20.

The News Record said that Springfield Avenue and Indiana Street will see almost one million dollars in rehabilitation work. All things considered, is this the time to spend almost one million dollars on (just two) roads?

Springfield Avenue is a pretty long road, Ed... and I for one think it is important to continue our work on it.

There is a lot long with Springfield Avenue...

It has been there a long time...
The planning is going on a long time...
They have worked on it for a long time...
And, there is still a very long time to go...

Jerry, Vic and David

Are you sorry that you passed that anti-war resolution, or would you do it again?
